My staff was asking me if we will play any different with the use of BBCOR bats this year. I have been always used bunts, slash, straight steal home, hit and run and plenty of run and hit. I have always had to play small ball since my team has never been big power hitters. So offensively I will not be playing any different.

Defensibly I have not decided.

BBCOR baseball is essentially wood bat baseball.

Compared to BESR baseball:

dramatic reduction in extra base hits
and OF's are playing shallower

Team speed/steals/sacs become extra important
R1--you're less likely to wait for a double--or singles stringed together-- to score him.
R2--OF's are 30-plus ft. shallower, so R2 is less likely to score on a single
R3--OF's are 30-plus ft. shallower, so R3 is less likely to score on a sac fly
just a partial list

Pitching: pounding the zone with strikes becomes extra important.

Our Legion zone has been wood bat for years.
Legion is still strong here.

Compared to gorilla ball, woodbat (BBCOR) increases the importance of having a darned good 3B coach calling the shots.
