In baseball, the team that plays better that day wins.

I have never seen a winning team come away from a game saying that they won because of pre-packaged excuses for losing by the losing team.

Losers Lament

Bad hops, bad umpiring, a pitcher having an off day -- all things that can turn an outcome from positive to negative.

Good teams overcome the bad hops, poor umpiring and any other problem with talent and solid playing.
