Second vote for college wood bat rules!
Kid's college team is already bleeding me for everything. While I enjoy wood bats immensely and happy my son's HS only used wood and his tourneys were mainly wood bat, I don't want to shell another $500-600 for that privilege.

Are you buying maple, ash, composite? What bat does your son use in BP?
How many bats do you buy for $500.00? Does he play in a "wood" bat Summer League?

My son used wood almost all the time from the time he was about 12 years old, except in games. Honestly when he was 15/16 we would go to the local HS field and he would hit almost as many out of the park with wood as he did with metal. I really think it made him a much better hitter than he would have been if he had used metal all the time.

My kid was using the Victus X50 axe handle bat that cost 150 (sale) to 220 (custom), maple. He went through 3 from the spring through summer. He is now starting to use the Dovetail pro xr handle bat. They are 200. For indoor BP he uses his 34 in Axe bbcor. Outdoor BP he used his game bat...I am sure the chilly northeast early spring contributed to the bat loss.
