My team is going to be playing in their first wood bat tournament. I'm expecting a low scoring, small ball heavy weekend. Any of you have any insights into what to expect other teams to do. I'm I going to get bunted to death.

13U boys, AA level but only a couple of them have ever played in a wood bat tourney. This summer season we didn't play much whiteyball, our 3-8 hitters all have pop, but BP the other night showed them all the difference in bats, I'm thinking we're going to be using the hit'n'run a lot, most of our guys make good contact.
Played in the Smolt-Grissom Wood Bat Classic this past summer and it was great for the kids. Scores were higher than I imagined and kids had more pop with wood than I imagined.
We lost 11-7 last night, but it was fun. Our outfied played 3 steps into the grass and never got burned. We were slow to start hitting, guys watching 0-2 pitches that should have been fouled off at least. 3 weeks off and some new teamates, it took 3 innings for everyone to settle down. Nothing beats the sound of a well hit ball off a wood bat though, we'll be entering more of these.
