How about that exciting finish to an undefeated regular season by the Woodbridge Vikings. In front of a huge crowd at Woodbridge on Senior Night the Vikings win 5-4 over a tough Osbourn Park squad. Bottom of the seventh, bases loaded, two outs, three two count, single to right-center by Woodbridge Sophomore Right Fielder Justin Petock. Congrats to a unique group of boys, you have displayed all year the true meaning of the word "Team". Good Luck in Regionals !

Vabaseballdad, you are right. 20-0 is one hell of a season. Its strange how much the PWC schools go unnoticed by the folks in Fairfax County (probably vice-versa I would think) since the schools are in different regions. Undefeated seasons dont happen often and it's a heck of an accomplishment in AAA Virginia baseball.

Congrats to the Vikings. Hope to catch one of their games down the stretch.

Well said, undefeated seasons in baseball are a rare bird indeed and should be duly recognized as an extraordinary accomplishment. I wish I could of seen that last game, BT88's description of the final at bat reads like a movie script. Again, congrats to the Woodbridge Vikings on a job well done!

I wouldn't label the Vikings as being a "Force". We are very young. We have three excellent pitchers, two, Rogowski (Sr) and Thomas (So) we have basically alternated starts all year and the third is Petock (So) who we have only had to throw 20 innings. I think our defense has been the key this year. Only a handful of errors (knock on wood) and we have only given up 42 runs in 20 games. Don't get me wrong, they can hit. Gap hitters through the lineup and Power in the right spots. Another key I think is the fact that seven or eight of the nine Starters played on the same Travel Organization since they were 9 and 10 years old which has developed into a core of incredibly close knit players. We will see. All I know is that it has been a season to remember no matter what happens next. Good Luck to all of the NOVA Teams.
Great young men! They, along with my son, played for the Prince William Express. Good organization that wanted to make sure their kids were able to play at the next level -- high school -- every player made their high school team the year my son enter high school. They also taught leadership and teamwork. I think Woodbridge has just shown exactly that. CONGRATULATIONS!! Good luck at Regionals and beyond.
