Does anybody have any information on this program, coach, etc.? We've read all that is publicly available and talked to some people, but could use some more information as the feedback has been somewhat odd. Thanks.
I'm not out of order! You're out of order! The whole freakin' system is out of order! You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't HANDLE the truth!

Sorry it's taken so long to check in. From talking to some of the kids who WERE considering attending and playing ball there, it seems this coach (I'm thinking Baker is his name?) has some anger issues. I've heard stories of screaming, throwing things, name-calling ect...The kids think he's pretty unstable. One incident that was related to me took place last winter prior to an indoor workout at a public facility. He was screaming and yelling at his players even before they took the floor, dropping f-bombs all over the place within easy ear-shot of a girls' youth s****r team which was vacating the floor. Apparently the young ladies were quite frightened by the ordeal and their parents were visibly upset. All heresay mind you, but I've heard it from more than one source.
My Gosh Holden! I just sort of dropped off the face of the earth there for a while and never checked back to answer your question about Logan. His fall went smoothly apart from suffering a chip fracture on the pinky finger of his throwing hand. He never told anyone except me about it until the fall workouts were over because he feared they'd make him sit. He wasn't in terrible pain or anything so I let it go. The Dr. said it was somethng that would just heal itself anyway. So he did well in the spring workouts and the first ten games of the season (2 in NJ and 8 in FL) went exceptionally well. He's leading the team in average (.476), slugging (.619) and OBP (.593) and was named Liberty League rookie of the week March 17th.
The bad news is they haven't played in over two weeks (since returning north) because of the crazy weather and awful field conditions in upstate NY. Well, such is baseball here in the northeast! I'm hoping the team and Logan are more rested than rusty when they're schedule finally resumes. Check it out:

PopTime, I couldn't wait any longer so I checked myself. Nice start!!!! I hope he keeps it up. I went up to Skidmore last year to watch SMC play so i know what you mean about weather and conditions. We're hoping for some decent weather friday for the start of the HS season. No college baseball for us this year, although we've been through one pro tryout and there may be a couple more.

As for this string, the coach was persistent. Very persistent. But, in the end, Zach made the right choice and he'll be doing a PG year next year. He was accepted to all four schools he applied to and he has to give us his decision Friday. If he chooses as he has indicated he will, he'll be at one of the top baseball schools in New England, which will be a nice transition to college.

Keep us informed!
