Rainy day. No baseball. Time for fun.
What is the worst baseball field your son has played on. What made it bad?
What is the best field your son has played on? Obviously the big time college players, some minor leaguers and MLB'ers will have this one hands down. Then there's the rest of us.
My nomination for worst is Roberto Clemente Field in Reading, PA. The infield is like a beach, then concrete, then beach, etc.. The chain link fences on the sidelines curl up on the bottom waiting to cut up a fielder chasing a popup in foul territory. There is some grass in the outfield. If your team is the first game of the day it's important to walk the field looking for broken bottles and syringes. Make sure your windows are up and the doors locked.
The best field my son has played on is Villanova's (Big East) in Plymouth Meeting, PA. It's also used by the school district of the town the field is located. My son has played school games there.
