My son is attending a showcase that Perfect Game is putting on this weekend. I had him listed as a LHP,1B and OF. I bought one of those programs and started counting how many LHPs were attending this thing. I counted only 18 out of 138 players. Only 13% of the whole showcase! Those that listed LHP as their primary postion accounted for only 7% of the showcase. That is the reason I tell my son to thank God everyday that he is a left handed pitcher/player and enjoys the sport of baseball.

I tell my son to wake up everyday and thank the lord who he IS, doesn't matter what hand he uses to throw the ball with and it doesn't matter that he plays baseball or not.

IMO,all players have opportunities to move forward, it's not about being more special whether you use the right/left hand, it's more what you do with what you have that makes you special. And that shouldn't have to include sports.
