Getting sketchy word on a tournament involving some of the biggies in the travel baseball world. Apparently someone, not sure who, is gathering some of the nations elite teams for a mini-tournament held in September at the friendly confines. Reports indicate it may involve both the Sparks and a team comprised of All-Stars from the Illinois Fall Scout League. It will be interesting to see if they play nice? There was a little friction last year over some of the players involved with both organizations. Anyone with info please share. East Cobb and some California teams are also apparently in the mix.

Spark, just making an observation, can you explain in a little more detail why this is "bad" info?? Not trying to start anything here, I think we have all seen enough of that on the other thread. Why is everyone being so secretive regarding the Wrigley event?

Is there an event being planned at Wrigley and are you/sparks involved, one team two teams perhaps, what about some of the other Top Illinois Teams were they invited? Just curious.

your bashing me on the other thread for not being in the know or having a personal relationship with people on a certain team, therefore I couldn't know what's going on. Now you all know about something that possibly might go on at Wrigley field. Funny, how that works. I say something with alot of knowlede behind it but because I only have 90% of the story right I'm an idiot. But you guys have about 10% of this story right and your posting on it.

Ben,

Can't wait to see who takes home the traveling Billy Goat Trophy handed out to the winner of our 12:30pm game on Sat. We will make it an annual thing. North vs South, I love it.....

Yep , I got ya! oops , me too.... Actually I put my guys in there just so they dont think they are there yet... Its gonna be a blast.
How about we just save everybody a lot of time and a lot of effort and you FedEx that trophy down here??? Big Grin

We can't thank you enough for getting us in here. I've been making calls all over the state, from LaSalle to Harrisburg. Should be a pretty good team.
All of that stuff is inconsequential at this point. From a personal standpoint my kid ( and others ) is going to have the opportunity to patrol the same outfield spot as Hickman , Bittner , Moreland , Dawson , Sammy and now Fukudome . How sweet for a 17 year old . Gonna be a blast !!

Hats off to Billy C. !!

Mr. Diggle

will definitely look you up next chance we get. Im also a fat guy ( by most accounts ) ..you will have no problem recognizing me

Great opportunity for the player's involved to get to play on "hallowed ground".

Nails, high-end travel ball is about relationships. Relationships that travel coaches have with college recruiters. Relationships that tournament promoters have with teams, etc. My guess is that everyone here was asked for a reason and you'll never know why.

Actually 15 months ago...we approached the Cubs with the idea through their local scout about putting together an event to feature local and regional talent. I contacted Taylor McCoulough with Perfect Game to sanction the event aand give national recognition etc. The Cubs were ready to sign off and the sale of the Cubs and the timing was just not right. The front office decided to put it off a year. Originally it was a MCHenry County idea...but more people than that were in the loop. I am very happy to see this happen. Better late than ever.
that stinks for Mchenry county then if they were the one's with the idea and they aren't even in the tournament and another Illinois team is in their place. Wasn't everyone saying all the games were going to be at Wrigley? Now it's only 6, hope it doesn't go to zero and the kids get an opportunity to play at Wrigley like everyone was saying. Very good teams there, should be a good event.

Some travel from S.FL, as well as C.FL for the opportunity of a lifetime to play at Wrigley Field

GO THE DISTANCE IF YOU REALLY LOVE THE GAME!!!

Blessings To ALL Involved
