Late Start?... later finish.

Should Longoria have let that 'hit' go foul? I only saw the replay view from the outfield one time, but Rick Sutcliff on the MLB-TV feed on AFN posed the question. It did look like the ball might have continued foul. It was a desperate time for the Rays. I'm sure the foul line would not have been the first thought I'd have at that time.

I was lucky enough to be at the game last night. Say what you will about Philly Phans...but the stadium was packed and rocking at 2 a.m.! Hat's off to Jamie Moyer...what a great story that guys is. Local guy from Souderton HS and St. Joe's University does good. It's been a great series so far....Go Phils! Smile

Is it really a great game when the tying run scored because a catcher didn't realize had had no chance to get the runner, hits him and the ball is kicked away? Then the winning run scores where the only ball that left the infield is the catcher's throw into center when once again, there was no shot to get the runner?
.

Secret handshake EH?

What secrets do you know about this stuff?

Marilyn knows...

From: Marilyn Stewart Stephenson ('62)

Worked at Arctic Circle as a teenager and used to make up the 'Special Sauce'. We were sworn
to secrecy back then, but I think it is safe now to give the ingredients...

Arctic Circle Special Sauce

Equal Parts of:
    Mayonnaise
    Buttermilk
    Catsup

Can you believe that buttermilk was in the recipe.
Yuck, but I always ordered extra, just like everyone else.

Did you work with Marilyn EH?

Excitement
3 Home Runs by one team
3 stolen bases by one player
runners picked off
unique coaching strategy (five infielders)
Old man pitching well
the most improbable hit wins the game
1:47 am

I'd call that a great game.

Add in Tim McGraw representing his dad at the game, and sprinkling his ashes on the pitcher's mound; Steve Carlton throwing out the first pitch, and Rollins and Howard both getting their swings back. It was an EXCITING game!

You're not impartial. If I were a Phillies fan and the game had five hits, twenty walks, twenty errors and the Phillies won, I'd think it was a great game.

Actually, I said it was an EXCITING game. And luckily there weren't 20 errors OR twenty walks, but the Phillies DID win! Smile And what is the fun of being "impartial"...that is what being a FAN is all about. And you are right, I'm a lifelong Phillies fan and was thrilled to be able to see my Phillies, in person, at a World Series game. It was EXCITING! Smile Go PHILLIES! Big Grin
