COOPERSTOWN,N.Y.- In the same town that baseball's immortals are enshrined, Hedgesville's Matt Yurish made his mark Friday. The Eagle's senior pitcher threw his third no-hitter of the season in a 10-0 victory over Notre Dame,Va. Academy. Yurish struck out 12 and walked 5 in the 5-inning, mercy rule-shortened victory. Hedgesville's 12th in a row. Hedgesville,WV is ranked 3rd in AAA. WVU will have a quality arm(Lefty) next year. I'm sure JUSTMOM is happy Big Grin GO EER'S............

MWR-VA:I have been reading all the stuff said about NDA this past week. What NDA does on the field has no impact on my life like it does yours. It seems no one can make a post about NDA without you coming back with some kind of response. Have you ever thought about starting your own NDA Forum? I have a hunch that you are a parent of a player at NDA. When you make post after post about NDA, your are now fair game. You will never see me make any negative post about NDA on this website. I'm a big fan of WVU and the young men that will be playing there next year. As Rodney King once said "Can't we all just get along?"
Both varsity teams traveled to Cooperstown. Their respective JV team were scheduled to play a double header back home. However, both schools lost some players due to academics at mid-term and had to promote some JV players. As a result, the JV double header was cancelled.

Artie Snyder pitched a great game on Friday as did Jason Kitchen for Riverdale (6 hits, 15 Ks). Both teams played pretty sloppily on Saturday as you may surmize from the score.

But the players learned some baseball history, shared some camaraderie and sportsmanship, and enjoyed an overall great experience.
