Recommended for the HS and College Players seeking the next level.

Might be pleasant surprise stocking stuffer for your son!

Rick Stephenson's 'project' has been endorsed by a couple of great baseball guys from the old neighborhood. "JB" has been on the west coast for nearly three and half decades and is the best in the baseball business. The other, "Little Man", in easy terms, simply helps all players, (and we are praying for his contract extension (on Nov 1), so his travelings will come home to Maryland, more often.

Interviewed and Featured Players, Coaches and Scouts include:
David Wright, NY Mets
Terry Francona, Red Sox
Spanky McFarland, JMU
Ronnie Atkins, Richmond
Jimmy Farr, Univ of Maryland
"Tooms", Nationals,
John Wilson, Twins
Bobby McKinney, Pirates scout
"JB", Agent
others

If you were able to get through "Men At Work" (which is a must summer beach baseball read), as well as "Moneyball", "Three Nights in August", "The Summer Game", "Five Seasons", "A False Spring", Conseco's shocker, T. Seavers, any of T. William's, and lest we forget Bouton's "Ball Four", and many others, "Prospect" will be more informative for your rising HS/College player (at least it's available on his era's technology!)

In other words, I can't wait for the book! The other book I will find as informative is from "The Rocket".... maybe a 2007-2008 (or whenever the future HoF decides to retire....again)!

In summary, the information value from the DVD alone is worth over ~150 bucks. And if the price is out of budget range, a chat with Rick just might get you 10% off (~ $2.95!).

And should you sell a couple of copies, if you know what I mean, heck, Rick probably is amenable to a 'west coast distributor'.

Bottom Line: Keep us informed!

Regards
Bear

Great endorsement Bear. Coming from you it means something! I concur 100%

This is a must see for every HSBB player, whether he wants to take it to the next level or not. Consider it a “public service announcement”. Prospect is filled with insight that only those that are in it or have gone through it can convey. I got it when it first came out and got a pleasant surprise to see Chad Tracy, who is interviewed in Prospect, go 3 for 4 against the AL Champions CWS last spring. GREAT STUFF!

GO SOX
I too am a fan of this DVD. I purchased it a month or so ago and watched it with great interest to see if it would be good for my 18 yr. old travel team or my college son and his teammates or both. BOTH is the answer. The production is full of great insights from top knotch people that the kids can really relate to and whose opinons can be greatly appreciated.

In a nutshell, it's well worth the cost, I too highly recommend it! For whatever that's worth of course! LOL!

I just got the DVD this week. I think it is outstanding, and Rick Stephenson is to be comended for a job very well done.

I plan to have all of the players on my summer teams watch the movie. I'm also going to purchase it as a christmas gift for my '06 players that have been playing in my program for a few years. I can't think of a better thing to do for them.
Hey Bear,

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been holed up working insane hours to get baseballwebtv up and running...can barely keep up...some major adjustments are coming soon that are pretty cool but take a long time to develop.

Thanks for the prospect recommendation. Yes, I began shooting Prospect II at the same time as I started shooting Showcase. I have some great footage for it from a diverse group of baseball people already but limited time to work on it at this point. This one might take a while to get all the footage together and edited, so it's probably not going to be a year or so before I can complete it.

While what I have so far is great, it's not enough and I don't want to just throw something out there...I figure its smarter to take my time and make it worthwhile.

Thanks again,

Rick
