When looking at summer league rosters, I notice a decent number of guys with an 'x' next to their names. Does this mean they've left the team?

If you are looking at the Cape, that would be the case.
Some players may have been on a short contract waiting for other players to arrive after NCAA play offs and others may have not done well and were sent home.

It's most of the collegiate leagues I've looked through. Almost every team, whatever the league, has x-men on the roster. I was just curious.
Hopefully, that's not the same as the mark next to Barry Bonds' name.

Krak- you got me curious so I read some Cape Cod rosters. Several of the released players are @ Team USA tryouts.

Im glad that he has found a school in which "the fit" makes sense for him and the family.

Well, they're the 'Oaks', but they have a couple of mascot logos like the PO'd acorn and a wicked-looking oak leaf. They're going NAIA next season, so looking forward to a greater volume of games. I don't know if they'll be in the GSAC or what, but I have always respected the Cali NAIA teams (Azusa, Cal Baptist, Biola, Point Loma, etc).....good baseball.

I really, really like the academic focus at Menlo (not that TU didn't have it - exceptional academic school) -- everything at MC is strongly geared towards the new marketplace and emerging technologies and support systems. They have a new Marketing Communications program that is right up son's alley (although he's also looking into Media Mgmt and Sports Mgmt - will decide how to mix and match after he meets with his advisor).
Yeah, Coach seems like a great guy. They are a team on the cusp of being very, very good. Beat Chapman once and swept PLU last year. I hope he can contribute to what looks to be a team on the upswing.
Most of all, though, the academics look good for his interests, and we have always loved the area (his first breath of life was California sea air!). He'll also be able to make some baby-sitting money for watching his little cousins just up the road!
My MAIN concern now is that I have clearly violated both of TR's stay-away states - Texas and California!
