A few years back my son played with a young man on his travel team named Andrew Rash. Andrew grew up in Anderson , SC and is one heck of a young man. I got to know Andrew very well and spent a lot of time with him and his wonderful mom. Andrew's dad passed away when he was really young so mom took up the role of baseball dad and mom. She would bring him up to many tourneys over the years and she was such a pleasure to be around.

Andrew wanted desperately to go to Clemson. Being a SC boy and living so close to campus he grew up a big fan of the program and wanted to be recruited by them. He never was. He is an oustanding player and was recruited by several programs and finally chose Va Tech. He redshirted last year he had some injuries.

Yesterday I got to watch Andrew be named the Player of the Game vs Clemson where he put on a show. He hit a bomb that has not landed yet. And his slide at home plate was awesome. He got up and looked in his dugout and screamed. They showed a close up of his face and I know what he was thinking.

I understand that Clemson has to do what they feel is best for them. No knock on them at all. But I know it had to feel Dam good Andrew! Man I am so proud of you. And I bet mom is still screaming! You can watch Andrew and his team mates tonight against the NC State Wolfpack and one of my other sons Pratt Maynard later tonight. Man this is fun to watch.
