You know, the midwest forum is turned into an Illinois forum!! You might want to consider some other topics that may be of interest to highschool websters outside of the state!! Just a thought!! Even though I am from the midwest, I have little interest in the 75 topics on Illinois!! Not sure how highschool players in the midwest would feel if they weren't from illinois?? I think you guys are missing a few states!! I hope the posters don't feel out of place asking questions in the midwest forum if they aren't related to Illinois??

BB, it is because the majority of people in this forum are from Illinois and there aren't many posters from the other states that talk about their areas. Maybe you're right though. Maybe there should be a seperate Illinois forum. People in Illinois don't know about players from other states if the people in the other states don't speak up about them. Tell us about some of the players and happenings in your neck of the woods and there's a good chance there will be some discussion on it.
CC, maybe they feel uncomfortable in speaking here, I noticed a post from a kid from Kansas, he got one response, it was mine!! I am not saying not to talk about Illinois players, that is great as well!! A little less specific might be a benefit to the forum!! People in other states wouldn't even know what the western burbs were, let alone post about them!!

I just found this forum a short while ago & I dont' post much, but I find it very interesting. The discussions seem to relate to exactly my son's interests. (06 from the western burbs). I totally understand BB's point, but I think there is alot of interest in Illinois, so don't eliminate the forum, just rename if you have to.
It seems as if there is so much interest in Illinois, that it would make since to have an Illinois forum!! Kind of weird though, if you look at it hardly anyone posts in the Great Lakes Forum, hard to figure that!! Oh, well, nothing against Illinois, I use to live in the Northwest Burbs so I know it well!! Just thought that some younger posters might feel out of place!!
BB, I didn't mean to be harsh or rude with my comments, i'm sorry. I agree with you 100%. My point though is that people outside of Illinois need to speak up or else they will go unnoticed. One topic out of ten isn't going to get noticed. It's almost like that kid that goes to only one low profile camp or doesn't do what he needs to to get noticed by college coaches, but expects every d1 coach to want him on scholarship. If ya don't get out there nobody will pay attention to you. So non-illinois people try flooding this forum some. Make the rest of the midwest forum people take notice to you and what you have to say. I would like to know what ball is like around the midwest, because honestly, I'm starting to get sick of hearing about the same 10 kids from the burbs of Chicago, and that's where I'm from.
There is only one kid that I can think of with that last name, not real sure is he went with the Area Code stuff to Austrailia or not. Went to Milliard South School, I think he ended up at a Juco someplace.

Stick, also was happy for your son with the scholarship fund a couple of years ago, he sounds like an outstanding young man!!
Everyone is welcome in this forum.

If Bob decides to do an Illinois forum, he'll do it.

Now...It seems that there are very few websters that post on this board that are outside of Illinois. I agree. Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and Indiana should be included, but there are few kids/parents that actually know anything about the high school baseball web in those states. Forget the posters name from Fisher's, Indiana...seems like he's the only one from the Hoosier state.

Until we get some participation from other states, the 1 or 2 posters from those states will be quite alone.

The idea is that everyone should tell a friend about this site each month and it will truly be the quality site that it can be--for everyone!

I for one am not active in this forum. My reason is simple, the majority of the posts in the forum are lists about who has the best arm, the best field, the best team...the top ten this, the top ten that...."

It may be great fun to speculate about, and create lists, but it is simply not my cup of tea.

However, since that is so predominantly what others on this forum enjoy - I don't have a problem with it. I just choose not to join in.

If Bob wants to add an Illisnois forum - he is welcome to.

IL mom, or II mom, there is only one thing wrong with your statement, if you happen to look at Aparent's title, she is an equal moderator to this forum!! I can't believe that anyone would attack anyone for just attempting to add more topics to an already interesting forum. No one has attacked you!! No one wants to take anything away from Illinois,!! If you feel that my posts are boring, that is understandable, my wife thinks 90% of the stuff I say is boring too, so I have to agree with you!! Do what she does, don't listen if you disagree with what I say!!

What I was trying to do was to add a regional flavor to the midwest forum. Not subtract anything from Illinois!! What I would hope this would do would be to have college coaches, recruiters, agents, scouts, players and websters that are in other states other than Illinois to begin to watch the board also. This would help every young player from the midwest region, and yes that does mean "Illinois" players as well as everyone in the "midwest!!

Maybe I should have posted this in the thread that you told beenthere to delete all of my posts when and if there is a Illinois forum, but I felt that it was more important to post this here!! And to be honest, how do you know that I didn't have a scholarship to give to your son?? Maybe I was looking for a player from Illinois or another midwest regional state and with one quick attack you made that not happen?? Please don't attack moderators, websters or anyone that is just trying to help young baseball players!! There is absolutely nothing in this for me!! Absolutely nothing!! I am just trying to help young players get to the next level and give them as much information as I have gained on the subject so they can be as prepared as possible!!

seems that some of us in IL (or formerly) forget about the quality of players and teams in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. We know of the teams just to our north and southeast and northeast (WI,MI,IN). I know I haven't competed against some of the teams from the states I mention...only because we chose to venture in a different geographical direction. I am sure that these states have their share of..Lombard Lightning, Norwood Blues, Top Tier etc., but how many of us know about them?
We (including myself) have a tendancy do get defensive in this forum and have to remember we are all from the Midwest...and it is us against the south, southwest and west....lol

Don't forget about our good MIDWEST values and friendliness

my 2 cents worth rolleyes
