Young kids on the bench - high school

There is no rule against but it isn't a great idea. If he is a bat boy, he must wear a helmet that fits. MLB used to allow it but after an almost injury they outlawed it. I would talk to the manager and try to convince him to keep a helmet on him, even in the dugout.

I did it for a long time. I normally wore a helmet w/o ear flaps. I also found a corner whenever there was a left-hander up to bat to avoid foul balls

Yes he approved. As did my mother. There were two times that I can recall getting hit. That's pretty good in nearly 10 years.

My dad was in the dugout with me during high school games. During junior high games, I stood next to our coach whenever he was off the field.

I won't claim to know everything (or enough) about baseball, but I know a lot more than your average person. This is because I've been around it my entire life.

Agreed not a good idea, but hopefully at least he had a helmet on........

No helmut on the kid when he is on the bench. Just seems like an accident waiting to happen IMO.

Huh? The picture above is the play I was referencing why MLB quit letting kids in the dugout. It is impossible to watch them every second and they aren't aware of what is going on and can put themselves in a position to get hurt.
Don't get me started on parental common sense.

Unfortunately common sense cannot be tested on an ACT test.
