Young Phenoms

I hear alot about these young phenoms my age that are suppose to be top picks in the drafts, but I'm wondering what makes these kids so special. Is it how fast they throw or how good they hit? I know a lot of really talented kids that don't have any kind of media because they play just simple travel ball. I also wanted to know if there were any players like Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez that were top prospects. I wonder if these top prospects are all talk and are just called that because they get themselves out there in the media.

If you have the talent, people will know and people will talk. When my son played travel ball at 14, the best two hitters around were Mitidero and Dubler and in my opinion, they still are today as seniors in high school. If a player is all hype and no substance, everybody will know soon enough. You will soon see that once you enter high school, your records are recorded, your game summaries are reported and you will know exactly where you stand in relation to your peers.
