First, I just want to say congrats to Mitch Talbot, rookie pitcher for the Cleaveland Indians. Having a great year so far (7-4) era 3.54.
He was drafted about 8 yrs ago out of high school by Houston then traded to the Rays then to Cleaveland last year.
He's my son's best friend and I was talking to him last January about his journey. He said he always felt like he could pitch in the Bigs, but was starting to get frustrated for still being in the triple A after all these years, and was about to call it quits. I told him to hang in there and stay positive and things would work out....and they did.
He's not with a real great team (record wise) but he's having an outstanding year so far.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but just wanted to say to all you young players pursuing your baseball dream. If you believe, don't give up. It takes longer for some than others, but it can come true if you work hard....Mitch is proof.
