When the younger kid gets to high school do you think the kid gets the benefit of the doubt he will be as talented? Do you believe there is pressure for the kid to perform?

I'm asking for two reasons:

1) There's a kid at the high school I believe has been given three years of benefit of the doubt and hasn't fulfilled the potential.

2) My kids were five grades apart. Freshman year my son said he was tired of hearing about the big shoes he had to fill as a student, citizen and athlete.

I believe there is pressure for the younger sibling to live up to the older sibling's accomplishments. My youngest Son mysteriously plays sports other than baseball and my wife and I believe it is because he is afraid he will not be as successful as the older sibling. Truth be told, I think the younger one would be a better ball player than the older one if he ever wanted to give it a shot.
