Our local little league board of directors voted on how we would conduct all star picks. 9-10 year olds were voted by all the minor coaches and managers. They gathered in a room and by simple majority, picked every single all star (which happened to be all unanimous). After announcements were made, one particular child wasn't chosen and his parents were livid. They called at 1:00 in the morning, showed up at P.A. and Pres. home, sent a letter to the board, sent another letter out to all the league parents, had their freinds from the league call coaches.....Is this a normal reaction? This is my first year as Player Agent, I have never been through anything like this before. Anyone ever experience this?

That sounds a little overboard from what I've experienced as President of a PONY League.

One of the hardest things as a PA or President is to stay calm and try to figure out if they ?might? have a good point. Not often, but occasionally they do. Its easy to just say that they're being jerks and write them off. Shouldn't punish the kid for the actions of the parents (in most cases).

Like HS team selection, no all star selection seems to ever go without some complaints. Most are nonsense, occasionally they are valid.
