Youtube vs. Recruiting Websites

IMHO, recruiting websites are for people who don't want to do the work themselves (and there's nothing wrong with that).

IMO the whole recruiting process can be done yourself. You just need the time, energy and knowledge, and for the knowledge part you have come to the right place . The youtube video sounds like a great idea. If you are getting a positive reaction from some of the coaches, you are definitely doing something right. Best of luck to your son as you navigate through the recruiting process.

The recruiting web site we used had a video link shot by me with no editing. The whole process cost about $200 for the entire year. So it was a relatively minimal outlay of funds. It included photo's, Awards Received, Links to Newspaper Articles and recaps from each game, as well as the video files of BP and an infield workout.

The real benefit of the program was the e-mail database and the ease of providing ample information about a player in a easy to use format.

It worked well, even though my son never signed with the programs that expressed interest. The key was that programs did take notice and make offers, which is what everyone wants.
