Just thought that it was really cool when my team went to the Connie Mack WS we faced Ann Arbor and i got a chance to see him play and now i found out he is ranked as high as the top 3 HS players in the country, and is likely to get drafted in the 1st round if he chooses not to attend Michigan!

I wish i would have gotten his autograph lol

You're right, Zach is a great player, but you really need to update your info! Wink Zach was in the previous '05 draft as a HS senior. He unfortunately did not have the senior year he'd hoped for and was instead projected to go in the 2nd-5th rounds. For reasons known only to scouts and family, Zach dropped to the 38th round where he was selected #1140 overall. Zach is attending the University of Michigan (latest baseball news). No doubt we will see him back on the draft board in a few years. Smile

Our team was also at the Connie Mack World Series this past summer. We played the Ann Arbor Braves and were able to beat them 4-1. They were a very good team and it was a pleasure to see Zach play. Unfortunately he got hurt out there so he wasn't at full strength. He will be a STUD at Michigan. I wish him a lot of luck.

plp556,
I assume that being from NY, you were on the Clifton Park Yankees. If so, we played you guys the 1st game and shared that late night/early morning bus ride together! Smile I heard that you guys have a lot of players returning and wish you luck as well!
Trombly:

Yup, that's me from CP. And thanks for the good luck. As it is now we should only lose 3-4 players for the next season, and we hope to have a good run like last year.

Here is my story of the WS, if you care to read

Our team played CP in 2004 qualifier at Troy NY. We were the only undefeated team going into the championship round.
We also were the only team that never got a bye. Had to play 3 games on the Sunday due to a rainout. We were exhausted. My son pitched the championship game and had to sit around all day in the heat for the 1st 2 games. He came out in the 4th with a no contest. We were by far the best team there.
I remember your team your coach was huge and had a big temper. I talked to him and he was a nice guy but very upset at the umpires. That was a tough game.
My son threw the 1st game on a thursday and had a 6-0 shutout going in the 4th so they took him out for the final game.
Troy is a great baseball area. My son played his last game of the 05 season against the Anaconda Indians just outside Troy. He wasa month too old for the Connie Mack so couln't go
I assume you were referring to 2005.
His father made it known that he wouldn't sign for anything less than "big money". After a stellar junior year with a fastball in the low 90's, he spent most of his time in the mid-80's his whole senior year. No one knows why and he has said that he is not injured. Needless to say, his "signability" was very low. I am suprised he was drafted at all considering he was a descent student at Pioneer High School.
