JD - Here's some more weather envy headed your way... In Chicago we are staring at another 2-4 inches of snow, and we're inside trying to get a decent workout in. At least we have the Blackhawk games to look forward to... Anyhow, there is a very flattering article on Florida JUCO and the tourny in the current Baseball America.

WPIAL Class AAA Blackhawk: THey have two dominant pitchers, Senior Adam Rousseau, and Sophmore Brendan McKay (LHP). They just beat Thomas Jefferson Pitt Recruit Greg Schneider (fastball 89) to go to the Championship game. McKay was impressive, mature for his age with good mound presence for a sophomore. He threw a complete game, two hits and 15 strikeouts. Schneider also had the same line. A pitchers dual. Norwin lost to Mt. Lebanon in the first round of the AAAA class.

sorry, I haven't checked out the site in awhile. Wed. night is finals for WPIAL. AAAA Seneca Valley vs. Mt Lebanon. SV has a strong team, probably start Matt Smith on mound. He is a Georgetown committ. He and my son squared off in son's last HS start, It was a 3-2 loss, 3 unearned runs in top of 7th. SV doesn't have to many weak spots, another D1 kid is Sid Breams son ( Liberty), clean up spot. SV is from our section son's team was 0-2 this year against them. Their 2,3 pitchers will not hurt...

Pro hockey...Couldn't happen to a bigger group of goofs and goons. I remember the days of Stan Mikita and the Montreal Canadians with Richard and the others that could actually skate and pass. Thanks blackhawk. There are really 4 Sr. starters not returning but our DH will take one of spots so we'll have to replace 3 guys. The 4 Sr are Harrison Law OF, Brian Nephew 3B, Will Keiser 2B & Tyler Martin 1B. Our catcher will move to the OF as we have a really good catcher coming up and our DH will most likely play 1st so 3rd and 2nd are the only two that will be open for next year unless some of the Jr's really step up and take some of the other spots which could happen.

Actually agsnhere, we were thinking the same thing about you guys having second thoughts. So far, most of our Tiger, Patriot and Blackhawk kids have played every inning in twice as many games as you, against good competition in front of lots of scouts. Several have made committments and are setting up lots of visits. I agree with Catcher, stop trying to stir things up and let everyone do it their own way.

Baller, deal is you're probably correct, except the high school team slam. No high school teams in the select division. We're only playing 12 games in league. Which really means three tourney's ( Dave likes to call them showcase, but that's because that's the new buzz-word in Connie Mack age kids. So my son's 16U team has played 3 PGBA events in Texas this summer and was signed up and paid for this weekend's DFW College Classic.
