Re: High School summer team in New Hampshire

9and7dad ·
What part of the state are you in? You don't need to mention the town if you are not comfortable, but a region might help. The response for a kid in Berlin/Gorham may be different than one in Salem/Nashua. And also, you are right, most rosters are set, but you never know who might have picked up an injury or just had a kid lose interest. Have you checked into local Legion or Junior Legion?

I think the team you are looking for may be the one in Weare. I don't know much about them other than I think they are coached by the John Stark head coach. I have no idea on the status of their roster. Here is a link from a quick google search. http://leaguelineup.com/welcom...p?url=wearenationals

Re: REGIONAL TEAM LOOKING FOR PLAYERS- ROCK SOLID TUCCI

Sounds like a great deal. My 14u son in not excelling on his local team though. We really need the inside track to college recruiting and connections at the next level. Is it possible to write a big check for video lessons and evaluations so we can really jump start this thing?

It's both: It's definitely a money grab and it may also be a nice way to end this whacked out season. How much traveling will it require? How do you feel about the coronavirus dangers? congrats on the D1 signing!

Thank you very much for responses. No travel required. I am thinking "Consultant" is right in that I should use my 6th sense. However, I am still somewhat considering just paying the extra memory part to have an extra memory or my son. All 2020's are in the same boat, but just such a blow to miss senior season - especially when team had a shot at going a long way in state... Thanks to all.

I haven't just laid out what this is on the thread because I'm not entirely sure but I know it isn't what Buckeye described so okay here is what I know. They are doing multiple things at USA showcase, one of which is sort of like a summer camp of baseball 24/7. Play PG events, live in a cabin with teammates, get instruction and baseball work outs and I also heard something about all the food being organic or planned out by a nutritionist. USA showcase already has 9u-17u teams with some...

What's up with this stuff? We keep getting invites from various colleges to go to the DR for a camp, or go with another school to a tournament as part of their pre-recruitment analysis stuff. What's their angle here?

Off-season Conditioning Routine

Nick Asmar ·
I’m a 14 year old who is going to be trying out for my schools team this March. How often should I be getting in batting practice and how many swings should I aim to take each session? I’m currently getting around 300 swings a week. I also try to incorporate some time each week to conditioning and strength training. Any tips for my routine would be appreciated. thank you, Nick Asmar

Hey, as a 13 yr old here, I also do some of the same things you do. For speed and agility drills, try to get an agility ladder(pretty cheap) and try some variations to work on your footwork. As far as speed drills not being done outside, try plyometrics(can be done indoors in a larger space like garage) and sprints if you can get to an indoor facility. Stay away from distance running, doesn't help for baseball and also slows you down since you get used to training slow. If you have social...

For conditioning I usually just do body weight exercises (push-ups, sit-ups, etc.) what type of speed/agility drills would you recommend? I can’t really do anything outdoors because of the weather here in Michigan.

Keep up the strength training. What do you do for conditioning? I would work on speed and agility drills in place of old school “conditioning”.

do you have a walk/driveway that needs shoveling? full disclosure, i'm from Hawaii and live in California so I don't know much about snow but I've thrown my share of dirt around and I know that's a heck of a workout. can you incorporate shoveling every other day (or every day if it needs it)? you get some upperbody work, posterior chain work, core/twisting work, aerobic activity, etc.

Lots of great advice here, body weight plyometrics are great ways to develop strength and power. Weight training is another option but I would not advise it unless you are supervised for proper technique and that may be hard at home. Please do not neglect the hitting and throwing prep. Remember if you can throw gas or mash, they will find room for you on the team. Lastly one of the old timers made a great statement about team practices...it is not to make you better, it is an opportunity for...

Re: CCL Summer League Team Question

A college coach, MLB scout, or private instructor is typically involved in getting college players placed in Collegiate Summer Leagues. If your current college coach isn’t assisting in the process that may not be a good sign. The best thing to do is find an advocate that can make some calls on your behalf.
