My name is Mark Noth. I attended the '05 games. There is a teammate on my team who deserves to be at the showcase. His name is Casey Ourada. He's 6 2'' throws upper 80's nasty stuff. Hinsdale Central Highschool. He deserves to be there. Please write back so he can get an invitation.

How do invites to this work?

Are many of the spots filled now by kids that had good sophomore seasons or reputations, with a few spots available to players that have strong junior seasons ... or is it pretty much filled up now, at the beginning of the season and the only kids added later are done so to fill holes in the rosters (or both).

June 12 at Triton! Invites are done by the Durst boys, Al Otto, Mike Shirley, D-Train, and the new guy Dan Pasqua. Area Code tryouts (invite only) are at North Central College on June 26.

I know Flanagan and Chmiewlewski will be there. I think Monroe will too, but I'm not positive.

Rice and Blair threw today and will not throw again untill PG National in Arkansas.

who showed well today? any standouts? top gun? best bat?

The pitchers pretty much ruled the day with wood bats being swung. Total of only 6 to 8 runs scored in three games and 15 pitch limit in effect.

Biela looked good at the plate

Winnicki looked good on the mound.

Wasn't there but for what it is worth, I heard that a few standout players were Nick Chmielewski-Sandburg, Pete Cappetta- Montini, Grant Monroe-Schaumburg and Sam Franklin-New Trier. I'm sure there were others that also impressed. I know John Flanagan from Bellville was there and I heard that he was chosen for the Area Code games. Again, my information is second hand so don't quote me.

I would agree, it was a pitchers day, especially with the wood bat. Though there was not a lot of offense, I did observe some hitters that looked good in the box and have really nice swings. I am sure I missed some, but those that I noticed were: Kaczmarek, Biela, Sexton, Doyle, Gailey, and Allen.

sandburg pitcher is going to be a good one after top tier guys get his control down. he pitched against LT and i thought he was the best pitcher we faced all year. he is one to watch. big kid with a strong arm but lack of control at this point. he throws (gas). work hard and it will pay off big for him...

It was a great day at Triton!...It was all about pitching on the day... Saw lots of good ones...Some guys worked 1 inning, others worked as many as 3. They are in no particular order, Ahern, Chmielewski, Kaczmarek, McFarland, Stroud, Allen, Chojnowski, Manville, Scarpetta, Huencke, and Monroe. Position players that looked impressive was Doyle, Biela, Estand, Kapteyn, Soto, and Sexton and several others... Loads of talent there, Many scouts were furiously scribbling notes...

Add Ian Tomkins to the list as catchers go, Tomkins arm reminds me of things I have not seen in a while. Real good!!

Real good event with alot of talented guys out there. I would say Sexton , Kaz, and Allen all looked awesome but that would be biased..

I thought the Hall kid from Barrington also showed well.

I saw Dain Hall play for the first time this past weekend. This boy can flat out play. Saw him at 3 positions and looked very comfortable throughout. He is new to my son's team and made his presence known quickly. Knows how to play the game and has good baseball instincts.
