With the excitement of the first day of the season coming up in ten days, I looked at Weather.com to see what the forecast was going to be on February 19th. I looked at where my son's team will be playing and saw that there was a 60% chance of precipitation on the 19th. That was disappointing! Then I looked at where my other son was playing, about 200 miles east. Again 60% chance of precipitation. Now, I am really down in the dumps.

So, just for the heck of it, I looked at the forecast where my son's schools are located, again both 60% chance of precipitation. Please note all four of these locations are hundreds of miles apart, north to south.

I took it to the extreme and looked at Houston Texas and Madison Wisconsin. You guessed it. Both had a 60% chance of precipitation.

I think I will wait a few more days before I get too disheartened by the opening day forecast.

Big Grin

I'm in the same boat (or on the same iceberg) as Mid-Atlantic Mustangs though... ...At least there's less than 2 weeks until tryouts...good luck getting on the fields that fast!
We have roughly 30" of snow on the ground, and enough "snow chutes" through our yard for the dogs to look like an Olympic sledding site, but tomorrow we will drive 3 hours for...drum roll please..... OPENING DAY for our son's college season. They'll play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and the temperature won't get above 40 degrees. Being veterans of this stuff, we leave a chair between us, place a small propane camping-type heater in the middle on the ground, cover the whole area with a big sleeping bag, and do quite well.

Either fortunately or unfortunately, the CNU women's basketball team is undefeated, nationally ranked, and playing at the same time, so we will have a "crowd" of parents and really devoted girl friends, and maybe a stray penguin or two...
