Ann,
I have never heard anything but the best about Coach Corral from anyone that came in contact with him. We in Knoxville felt he has been the bright spot in the program the last two years. Without touching on the Vols pitching woes in the past before Coach Corral with rumors of arm overuse, injuries, etc. We felt Coach Corral knew how to handle the players and get the pitchers to produce.
The team has been hard-hit by some incoming recruits being taken in the draft, other players transferring out of the program. The cupboard for next Spring has some holes that can now only be filled by players transferring to TN. The 2004 high school class in Tennessee, the best in recent memory was largely ignored and Coach D's contract was not extended. I can see where Coach Corral would look to another program.
If you haven't looked at his bio, it's still on the TN site at:
Fred CorralI have seen this announcement on SEBaseball:

"Fred Corral has resigned from his position as Tennessee pitching coach to take a similar position with Oklahoma, according to sources close to the situation. Corral, who had sizeable success improving the Volunteer pitching staff in his two years in Knoxville, will join an Oklahoma staff led by veteran head coach Larry Cochell and top assistant Sunny Galloway."
I think you have a good one, your son will be in good hands.
