The 16U Allen Wranglers are still looking for the following positions to fill out our roster for the 2011 summer season:
1 Catcher
1 OF (primary position)
Pitchers
Anyone who tries out and makes the team will be given opportunities to earn playing time at other positions as well! We are not picking up guys who will sit on the bench... we will NOT add a player unless he will play a LOT with our team! These are just the positions we need the most, but our current group are versatile athletes who play INF/OF and can flex.
This team has a proven history of success, dating back to 2006. Our all-time record is 211-90-3, competing favorably against some of the best competition in our age group, including all the big names.
In the Summer of '11 we will be playing in one/two weekday leagues (last summer, it was Lone Star ABA and North Texas Mickey Mantle...this year, we are considering BBI, since we have played there the past two fall seasons) as well as 6-7 showcase tournaments. This should total 55+ games.
Cost will be ~$1000-1100 per player which includes: league and tournament registration fees, practice facility rental, practice facility equipment, uniform tops/caps (players purchase their own pants, belt, socks, cleats).
The coaching staff has been with this team for 5 years and is committed to developing players to play at the collegiate level. Several of our coaches had successful college careers.
We are not a large organization (we fielded 4 teams in various age groups this past fall), but remain extremely committed to the development of ballplayers in our area and under our tutelage.
Understand that 3 of our 4 coaches for the 16U team ONLY coach the 16U players, so as to develop continuity within the team, and get to know our players! We pride ourselves in treating you and your family with the utmost respect, knowing communication on and off the field, and team-first attitudes are a critical part of developing baseball and personal life skills.
