BTIL, 1 more thing. as far as i can tell there are no politics involved with the yankees. but that gos for the blues and many other teams ive been involved with. sure your going to add kids now and then, but the people my kids have played for (last years DuPage Rage) have luckily avoided the politics. i think there is much more of that on the weaker teams, not the really top teams.

I don't think Norwood plays such a weak schedual. I know that you saw games this fall, and yes those were some weak teams, but durring the season it is not like that. At least the last month of the season is tough. The early part, I admit is kind of pointless. In my two years we have started 20-0 and then 35-1. Once we hit regionals and nationals however, we still win, which tells me that the schedual was not too easy, otherwise we would not be prepaired for these games. I mean the semi's and championships of any tourny are always quality teams for the most part, and like I said before we beat Baldwin, Kopach, and kids from other states throwing low 90's. We beat quality teams like Maryland Orioles, Maroon 18's, Lombard 18's, Libertyville Legion, and others. Our only losses were to teams like Indiana Bulls or other teams like us from other states. I guess if we played only teams like the Bulls and the Blazers that we would have a tougher schedual, but in the end our goal is to get to nationals and win it, and so far the schedual we have has prepaired us for that. I think winning all those games early really helped too, because when we trailed by 3 in the last inning of games and there were 2 outs with the bases loaded, we believed we would win, because we did not know how losing felt. And sure enough on an 0-2 pitch, we hit a grandslam vs Canada. Had we lost because we play teams like us all the time, I can't say the result would not change because we might be used to losing. Look at the 13-3 Bears....did not know how to lose and because of that they found a way to win...the next season 4-12..started to lose and suddenly they did not find a way to win. Baseball is mental, and winning is mental, that is why players and teams go through slumps...I say why start a slump when you don't have to?

Sonen, Another way to look at the blues situation is this. with all the solid d1 type guys throwing and hitting for you guys, wouldn't it be great if all those scouts that you get to play in front of at the Nat'l Tourney you go to were around every week or every other week? Norwood has been and is good enough to compete at these Ga,Fl, and other tournaments where there are always a ton of scouts. At Jupiter last year we played 2 tournaments where scouts were everywhere.Marietta has 2-3 tournaments that are similar. My point is I guess, why play in front of the same people every week except 1? It wont get you drafted unless a crosschecker agrees anyway and you'll continue to audition for only a small # of schools that play in the frozen north!
17 year old national pg wood bat with dupage rage and the world wood bat in october with the indiana yankees.
the rage was there, played well spanked the sc diamond kings who i believe came in # 2.At Jupiter my son, Dennehy and McFolling played with the Indiana Yankees and were late additions to the team. Did not get on the roster that was passed out to the scouts. You can find him in one box score, the records posted were for the most part incorrect and sketchy.but what a tournament. so many really solid players,it was a scouts dream. pg says there were 500.i actually think there were that many.
We were in Marietta w/ the 17 year old teams. You might be looking at the 18U? We were in w/ SC diamond Kings ,Team Canada, a team from Seattle, Mexico--can't remember all of them. Great venue, could have been run better.Lots of great teams and plenty of pro and college scouts.
