The White Sox will not fail due bad attitude or "Fat Cat" mentallity. Maybe from lack of talent but not because they mailed it in.

Bold prediction: Konerko hits .225 (not a stretch) with a few HR and not many RBI, and someone else will be DHing with Thome at 1b. Some teams would leave Konerko out there because of his big (too big)contract, but Ozzie would never do that. Can you say Russ Gload?

holden,

You and fsb, two PROFESSED CUBBIE FANS, have got it all wrong. Just trying to "stir" things up because nothing is happening or is likely to happen on the North side. What an outfield: a carrot top that can't run or throw; jacques jones, who can't hit, field or throw; and, any other warm body.

Neifi at short and Cedeno at 2nd.

Dusty will ask to be traded back to the Giants now that Barry is back.

Dusty will be gone before July 1st. You heard it here, first, Cubbie fans.

Makings of another disaster on the North side.

Cubbies have regressed in the winter!!!!! That is ok, fans, get your tickets and drink your beer...enjoy the sunshine and the ivy...Pretend you're in the Ivy League!

No chance now on the North side.

Go White Sox in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Aww...beenthere....Some Cub fans make some sensible, logical comments and you go off on us again. The only advantage the Sox have is their weak watered down division.

Besides, the Cub outfield is better than the Sox outfield. Pods=WAY over rated CF=Minor Leaguer RF= Veteran who has been up and down his whole career. Dye and Pods are hardly players that can be counted on. Now look at 3rd....and 1st...and it's a toss up in the MIF....now tell me how great the Sox are if the Cubs are going nowhere.

Beenthere, surely you jest! With any luck Dusty will quit during Spring Training and then we can begin the process of winning. I'd like to see the Sox try and win with Dusty at the helm. That would be a real accomplishment. The Sox are where the Cubs were in '03 but Bartman didn't show up to stop them. Look what happened to the Cubs after that...
I hope other Cubs fans are as pumped up as I am after reading Jim Hendry's comment from Monday. "We have enough to line up and have a starting lineup". Very encouraging words from the gm of a team in a big-market that was not too long ago a few outs from the WS.
Mediocre at best offseason moves by Hendry. The good news - still 8 peaceful weeks or so before Wood & Prior injury parade begins.
denis, I know that wood has had many injuries over the last few years, in my mind I keep seeing that Astros game early in his career striking out about 20 or so. I am a Sox fan but would really like to see Wood healthy and dominate. Seems like a lot of fans forget he also had a few years where he should have won 18 or 19 games if the Cubs would have scored a couple of runs for him. As far as Prior, Haven't most of his injuries been a little on the unusual side, being run over by Choi, and the line drive, I know he has had some other issues but I think many are knocking him way to early in his young career. It would be a blsat to see the big 3 on the north side healthy and strong at the same time that the Sox pitching can be dominating.
1) Konerko has had a reputation since HS as a tremendous hitter. You cetainly don't get to the bigs with his wheels and defensive ability, although his defense has improved greatly. It took him awhile, but he should have a great year now that he has settled in as the Sox leader.

2) Dye is much like Konerko, a can't miss guy that had somewhat underachieved through his early years. Another solid charachter that will have a productive year on and off the field.

3) Tome's injury problem's last year were his first. Imo he'll be fine...and put up some big numbers.

4) The Sox middle infield is 1 of the top 3 in MLB!

5) This year the Sox could win 90 with Dusty and 100+ with the wizard!
