Is anyone familiar with the Prospect Games put together by the Chicago White Sox Training Academy?

Ive heard from a few people who attended last year or year before last and they were not impressed at all with it. Said it was poorly run and not a worthwhile experience. Put the $200 somewhere else.
We were there two years ago. There were a few colleges there but in the afternoon when it got hot, they all left. Sulltiger probably heard right IMO.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of a lot of the events and programs put on by this place. I would look somewhere else if I were you.
Thank you friends. My son came home with an invitation to this showcase through his high school coach. The coach didn't know anything about it. I just went to my hsbaseballweb, looked it up, and save $200.00 and a lot of driving. Just a testimony to the value of htis site.
Hi, I can recommend a "Showcase" if your son pitches or catches. The "USBA Showcase" (US Baseball Assoc?) put on a great showcase at E;mhurst College late Fall last year.
We went to a couple and less than 10 college or pro scouts were there. Gave up on this approach as a waste of money. Someone recommended USBA showcase. There were about 40 college scouts from all levels. Run extremely well with approx. pitching time. etc. My son got 7 letters and packets (using his name) from colleges.

I also recommend the USBA showcase. I attended during the fall and it was my first showcase.
There was quite a few scouts and coaches there, around 40, like for2n8john said. Another nice thing is that the results are posted online so that you have a copy to send to schools.
If I was given the choice I would definately attend next year.

My son and I experienced the USBA showcase at Benedictine University last June. Pitchers threw 8-10 pitches. Catchers waited more than 3 hours to make 4 throws down to second. Then catchers faced weak batting practice pitching to "showcase" their hitting prowess. No other catcher skills evaluated. Nice t-shirt though. Way more coaches advertised than actually showed up on a beautiful day at a beautiful facility.
