2009 Matt Dozier Benefit Tournament | High School Baseball Web

In 2002, former South Grand Prairie HS center fielder Matt Dozier was paralyzed in an accident. Every Fall since, the coaching staff and parents at SGP has held a benefit tournament with all of the proceeds going to Matt and his family to help offset medical bills. All workers including umpires, concession, and field maintenance volunteer their time and efforts each Fall to make this happen. Each year several high profile select teams, along with high school teams, participate in the tournament.

This year the tournament will be held on November 14th and 15th. We are still currently looking to fill spots in both divisions. Please contact me if you have a team that is interested in participating. As of this posting, we have 13 varsity (18u) teams and 7 junior varsity (16u) teams. Games will be played at SGP, Grand Prairie HS, and Northwood University.

T21 - Good luck with the tourney, sounds like a great effort to help the Dozier family. Hopefully, we will see you guys at the 2010 Warrior Classic!

Games will start at 10am at the fields of SGP, GP and Northwood University tomorrow morning. Should be another great turnament.
