I picked Pujols,
but he seemed to have changed his swing for the event.
he stood up a lot more than his in game swings and his load was a little different, i.e. higher leg kick.

Yeah I noticed that about Pujols as well.I usually see him with a wide crouched stance and allmost no stride.I wanted Pujols or Howard.My son picked Prince Fielder.
In my opinion,
Comparing the mental approach, pre swing and swing taken during the home run derby to actual MLB games is similar to comparing the ones used in long drive competitions to actual PGA tournaments. They are very different.
And for the record, I LOVE Prince Fielder’s violent hip action and have always taught my young hitters to “think/feel” that way.

I like Cruz's swing very much. From what I could see, he was the only one swinging the same as he does in a game.
Cruz's swing looked very smooth. How often does he strike out in games? He looked like a high average hitter.
About 1 in 5 ABs, but he's getting better all the time. In 07 he had 87 in 307 ABs and this season he has 71 in 305. He's only had two seasons (including this year) where he played in more than 45 games, so he has room to improve as he learns the pitching. 23HRs this season though, not bad.
