Prairie Ridge RHP Andy Kovarik has committed to Saint Xavier University. Congrats

Palatine HS SS Cody Bobbit commits to Heartland Community College. Cody was also being recruited by NIU. NIU demonstrated one of the classiest recruiting campaigns I have ever been associated with. Congratulations to Coach Metzger and a special thanks to Coach Ed Mathey and Steve Joslyn from NIU.

I have not had any experience with NIU or their staff, but I can say, that of the dozens of schools that were talking with Junior #1, the cream of the crop was SIU's Dan Callahan. Straightforward, honest, sincere.

It would seem we have some good ones here in IL.

My son will be out of Heartalnd next year, but I can say Cody Bobbit will like the coaches and the new stadium is as nice as a facility can be.

Good luck to Brian. Playing D1 athletics at a service academy tests the mettle of every young man participating. They are unique places with unique challenges.

Hopefully AF's change of coaches this year will have a positive effect on the program.
