Does anyone know or know how to figure out the breakdown of the draft in terms of how many players were out of HS, D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO? I'm curious about the mix.

From various sources, I don't know who performed the actual breakdown, I can't take any credit for it.
1215 drafted
72% college…. (742) from 4 year, (130) from JC
28% High school (342)
653 pitchers (472) RHP, (182) LHP
182 OF
116 C
94 SS
59 3B
58 1B
53 2B
Yeah, I saw that on a previous post. I'm really looking for how many D2 players were drafted. They do have 742 from 4 year schools, but how many of them were D1, D2, D3, NAIA. I'm just curious. Thanks.
Just on another note on that list. I was pretty surprised that there were so many more RHP than LHP. Are there really that many fewer good leftys out there?
Actually, bballman I thought the number of LHPs was high. It seemed like the top rounds were chock full of top LHPs. I'm going to go back and dig through that 2014 draft when I can find a couple minutes to rub together.
Being a left handed pitcher is a blessing....being a great left handed pitcher is an absolute blessing. 10% of the population is left handed, yet 27% of those pitchers drafted were LHPs. Ideally, 50% of college and high school rosters are LHPs.
# of D3 kids drafted, I would think the D2 site would have a similar announcement, but I haven't seen anything yet.

OK. 15 out of D3. I don't know of a D2 site that would give any information like that. I know of a D2 baseball message board, but that's all it is and I already asked on there. I know there were 12 out of my son's conference, but that's just one conference. Guess I could look up every D2 conference site and see if they have announcements, but that seems like a lot of work. Thought someone here might know of an easier way to figure it out.
I don't do the twitter thing, my son told me to look here, he followed this on draft day, quick count has 70-73 D2 names. That was scrolling through pretty quick, some of the names could have been duplicates? and also assuming they are all D2 players?
I know this is old news. But does anybody have access to the players history in the draft? I would love to see from the college ranks if the kids were drafted before and what round. It would be very interesting to see if kids going to college are trending up or down in draft order after going to college.
thanks. I think.
