About the distribution by position...how should you read that? Of the 684 kids, less than 20 were third baseman? How is each kid classified position wise?
It seems like it is a tough road for a third baseman. (As well as any other infielder just classified at a specific infield position)
State participation insight is based on what is listed on the team roster, which is normally the primary position. Many schools normally list players as infielder or mid-infielder vs specific position.
Remember, this only represents 2019 freshman.
Below is a list of all players from Georgia that are listed as infielder.
In my humble opinion, I would look at the patterns for the last couple of years.
