This is really good information. I think your assumption that 25% of HS players are seniors may be on the high side. Many large high schools have a Varsity, JV, and a freshman team ( or a JV2). Considering that seniors can only play at the Varsity level, and the entire Varsity isn’t made up of seniors, I would calculate the number of seniors in the program to be more like 20% - maybe even a little less. 

I've seen blogs stating no more than 25%, thus I used it as a default.

National Federation High School Survey only counts varsity players for their participation statistics.

 Here are the numbers with 20% would be ~1,775.

But if these numbers are only varsity players, then the % of seniors would be higher.  Last year our varsity was 50% seniors, the year before 30%, never less than 25%, and often more around 40%.  The underclassmen were mostly on the freshman and jv teams, with a few on varsity.

There are 375 high schools in Tennessee, using 20% to 25% is consistent across the country.  Remember, the objective is to provide an rough estimate of # of players per high school class.  The only why to be specific would be to have high school data, e.g MaxPreps.  Note, not everybody uses Maxpreps
