Opening Day Doubleheader. Kid homered in Game 2. I didn't screw up the video. Team won both games. Life is good.

That is indeed a good feeling. I once wasn't filming when my son hit HR. But we figured we could get the video from the tournament folk who were. We got it alright...that and the press box's complete shock commentary of "Holy F*&@". Sometimes video is great and other times...oh well. Lol.
Freshman son arrived in St Louis today and has DH tomorrow and Sunday. Couldn't get a field Saturday apparently. Hopefully he will get his first start or AB. Team is 0-2.
@BB and BB it'll be pretty nice day to play in STL and his team is playing at a great ball park!!
DH today was moved to "The O'Fallon Hoots Baseball Team at Carshield Field". Looks like a nice park. I don't know why they moved it. UMSL field may be unplayable. IDK.
@BB and BB We live less than 10 minutes from Carshield Field -- it is a GREAT facility. Former minor league park, now college wood bat. Son has played there several times. Very nice day today and very windy! Good luck to your son and his team this weekend!
I just want to say that college baseball is the worst rollercoaster ride of all time. But maybe it's designed that way to make getting off it easier?
you win some, you lose some, and sometimes it rains, but you get to come back again for the next game.
It's early but I've been pretty disappointed with the umpires so far. I'm not talking about ticky tack borderline calls, but a lot of "oh wow" calls - way more than usual.
Sometimes I'll watch a replay of the broadcast to see if my eyes were betraying me or the bias was getting in the way. But I've noticed the some of the color guys have mentioned it mid broadcast as well.
Miss following this thread closely!
But my advice...go to as many games as you can! Take your kid and a teammate out to eat. Slip them a $20. It ends way too soon.

First week of March and we're waiting on an insurance approval for an MRI. Not how you want a season to start off.
So sorry to hear about the players getting hurt. Just shatters a whole year.

Literally made me want to puke when I got the news. Gut punch.
Speaking of weather how about D3 University of Maine at Presque Isle. They Only play eight home games. It’s the last eight games of the season in late April and May. I didn’t know they had a baseball team until seeing an article in The NY Times a few years ago about playing all their games on the road.
I had friends who played at University of Maine at Orono (D1) in the Seventies. They would come out of the field house and play a ranked team in FL, TX or CA.
