Since these games are the first "real" games, time for the bi-weekly threads.

Keller at Marcus today at 4:30. Stafford should be starting for Keller tonight, don't know how long he'll go since we have the Baylor Tournament this weekend.

Hopefully the guys will play a better game than they did against Coppell.

Denton 5
McKinney North 4
8 innings

OPson 5IP 4H 3R 2ER 1BB 3K Got a ND

Gave up a 2 run "bomb" to their #3 hitter in the 1st inning, I think his name is Riley. Settled down after that and did pretty well.

It was nice meeting momandcpa at the game. Her son is a stud at the plate and on the mound. He looked really good.

Disappointing to lose the first game, but there's lots of games ahead of us. We had 11 k's, which wasn't expected.

Denton has a pretty solid hitting club. I was impressed, as was OPson.

Allen on Thursday night at the McKinney tournament.

Little Crawdad got the start and got his first win of the season: 3IP, 1R, 0ER, 2H, 8K, 2BB. Kind of struggled most of the night - behind in the count too much. Anyway, we got our first win so at least we know we will not get skunked this year.

The "BIG" game over here was Monday night - the two previous 3A state champions (Liberty Eylua 2006 and Carthage 2005) squared off in Liberty Eylua. Carthage came out on top 3-1. David Jackson (Junior) got the start for Carthage and gave up one unearned run. Kris Tate (senior) came on in relief and picked up the win. Carthage held LE to one hit. Kris plays for DBAT during the summer and is a very good SS in addition to being a very good pitcher.

Is this the same Hutton Jackson that played for the Marshals South?... If so, my son played with him a few years back. That's awesome !!

Way to go HUTTON!
