My son last year joined a 23U travel team. Cost only $75k per year. Yes, he is playing up, he was just turning 18 when he joined the team. It was very different than what he knew prior. Most of his prior teams had 15-17 players but this 23U team had 45, due to Covid, but usually carries around 38. It was also out of state so we had to send him away. The downside of being out of state is that none of his teammates knew him or had seen him play over the past decade. In fact, the coaches only saw him play a few times and really didn't know him or his reputation. You might ask why he's playing up on a 23U travel team, well that is in exchange for an education that they throw in for free! Finals start today, send prayers.
