Kid signs with a D1, and is there for two years. Gets a release and is apparently draft eligible??? How does this work? I thought you were locked in for three seasons.

You can be drafted after 2 if you'll turn 21 during that year....example....a kid turns 21 this October could have been drafted this past week....even if he just completed his sophomore year
Interesting. Just looked up the kid and he's already 21. Graduated HS at 19.
Pretty sure have to turn 21 within 40 days of that year's draft.
My bad....it's 45 days. Rule 4 of the first year player eligibility for the draft.
Thanks....had a friend's son who was in that position. I thought it was the calendar year....I was close...lol
Braden Webb from South Carolina was drafted in the 3rd round this year as a freshman. He sat out a year or two after graduating from HS to recover from TJ surgery.
GHHS Jr will be in that boat for the 2018 draft.
