In the metroplex area:

Mesquite Poteet (VERY good team)
Ft. Worth Arlington Heights (has arguably the top 08 pitcher in the state)
Corsicana
Waxahachie (led by 2 sophomores)
Midlothian
McKinney
McKinney North (hot down the stretch)
Frisco
Rockwall Heath (1st year program, playing real well)
Richardson Pearce

In the state:
Corpus Christi Calallen
Corpus Christi Moody
New Braunfels Canyon
Montgomery
Longview Pine Tree
I'm sure there are others, but I don't know who they are.

Might wanna ad Highland Park to that list. They started off really bad in district. They began district 1-4 then they win the next 10 in a row including impressive wins against the top 3 teams in district (Poteet,Pearce and Rockwall Heath). I am not sure how the tie breakers work. But if Poteet beats Pearce Friday night, and Rockwall Heath and HP win thier games there will be a 3 way tie for 2nd. In head to head they would all be 1-1. Does anyone know how they would break the tie? 3 way playoff?
Many of the disticts handle 3-way ties like this....

Coin flip -- odd man gets bye in 3-way playoff. The other two teams play -- loser eliminated. Winner plays odd man for playoff spot.

Makes for a lot of baseball this final week. In some cases, Thu (rain game), Fri (final district game), Sat (1-2 games for playoff spots or playoff seeding) ---- a test of the teams' pitching depth.
