Baseball has been a long, slow motion investment for our family. Our essential recruiting investment, other than a few showcases, was to buy a Digital Video Camera and tape nearly every at bat during our son's soph and junior H.S. seasons.
This video project was manadatory for us, as our son sought the attention of several schools more than 1000 miles from home. It was also more fun and more useful than a recruiting service, as it doubled as a training tool.
One thing is certain: A no-frills, home-made skills video can help you get into Haverford and, in our case, it also stimulated agressive recruiting from several D1s, plenty of D2s and more D3s that you could count. I also suspect those video tapes will provide amusement for many years to come.
