Eight more Dallas-area baseball draftees sign with respective MLB teams

McKinney shortstop Matt Lipka and Mansfield Legacy right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard,
the Dallas-area's top two players taken in this year's MLB First-Year Player Draft,
signed their respective contracts last week with Atlanta and Toronto.

And in the past week eight more area players drafted have agreed to contracts, according to their official teams' Web sites.

Besides Lipka and Syndergaard, both first-day selections, here are the players who have inked deals:

Jason Martinson, SS, Birdville -- No. 146 to Washington
Michael Mariot, P, Southlake Carroll -- No. 239 to Kansas City
Preston Claiborne, P, Carrollton Newman Smith -- No. 535 to the New York Yankees
Austin Goolsby, C, Coppell -- No. 778 to Baltimore
Robert Young, P, Cleburne -- No. 938 to the Chicago White Sox
Anthony Lohden, P, Frisco -- No. 989 to Kansas City
Brett Bruening, P, Flower Mound -- No. 1,268 to the Chicago White Sox
Johnathan Moore, C, Arlington Lamar -- No. 1,366 overall to Texas
