During a "junior day" visit to Winston-Salem on Saturday, Midlo Son made a handshake commitment to Wake Forest, to enter school in the fall of 2008 and hopefully hit the field in the spring of 2009.

It was only about a year ago that someone showed me this site and I started reading and often putting in my two cents. As great a time waster as putting in my two cents has turned out to be, I do enjoy the dialogues. But more, I feel that my son and I have really profited from the tremendous wealth of information available here and the willingness of so many of you to share with us the benefit of your experiences. Some of that has happened out in the open, much of it in PM's that I will not recap here because those PM's were, well, private.

I won't bore you with the reasons why we chose this particular school. Everyone has to have their own reasons why one school appeals to them more than others. Mostly I just wanted to thank all of you who have been so very helpful. Special thanks to PGStaff, Tiger Paw Mom, and SDBB, and each of them know why.

I hope to continue meeting more HSBBWebbers at various events, maybe at college games some day, and who knows, maybe even at Fenway Park -- site of the 2009 ACC Tournament! You can bet I'll be there, wearing lots of black & gold! (Just look for the guy keeping a scorebook, chewing his nails and pacing like a madman.)

And hey, SDBB, remind your boy about Fenway! Maybe that'll get him to stay that long!

c'mon, what could be boring about elaborating on great tradition, conference, location, & coaches ... and uh, ok - I'm sure many of us are anxious to hear about the chicks too

Congrats to Midlo Dad, son, and family. Wasn't that a nice parent feeling when the decision is made?. We talk about steps and hurdles in the career of any baseball family. I think that decision ranks as one of the tops in our family.

It's kind of funny when you look back a couple years ago and this process looked as though it was going to be a "walk in the park" and when you're done it looked more like a remake of the Wizard of Oz. It has characters, the high & lows, fantasy & reality, but in the end there is a rainbow.

Congrats again

Midlo,
Congrats and right back at you. I write this from a lobby in a VA. hotel where my son is making an official visit this weekend. You have been kind enough to share with me your insights on these U's and it has been very helpful.

We will probably announce in the next day or two, but this website has been a wonderful resource in the whole process.
Midlo -

AWESOME NEWS! - CONGRATULATIONS to your son and your family..
