Oh guess what!!!! Even tho I can blame that horrible name on my husband....I want to share with you all how wonderful he is (despite the last name he brings with him! Wink. He caved in last night and told me that he had been planning a surprise for my birthday (he just can't keep a secret! lol). He's taking me and my best friend and her husband to New Orleans for the weekend! Big Grin Isn't he great?!? The last time I was in New Orleans was about 25 years ago for the Sugar Bowl. I wasn't interested in much beyond the Hurricanes at Pat OBrien's at that point in my life Roll Eyes. Anybody have any suggestions of "MUST DO's" in New Orleans for me? Of course...I will STILL partake of a Hurricane! Thanks all! Tootie Liverface checking out now!!!!
My first born...Buttercup
and my second born...Buttercup
Congratulate Buttercup thumb

I will be watching carefully to see if there is a "BLUE" sighting... making her way further north to observe a certain hitting coach...

URKMB,

Congrats to Buttercup...I'm sure he hopes that his baseball buddies don't get wind of his "new" name! EekDon't see many Buttercups in baseball! Big Grin

"Hit a homer, Buttercup!" Or if he's a pitcher, "Give 'em the stinky cheese, Buttercup!" biglaugh

Of course, mine doesn't have room to brag, either..."Now batting, Poopsie Bubblesniffer!" The opposing players would probably start a "Check your pants, Poopsie chant."

Dear Crusty Girdlefanny ...

On behalf of my son, Snotty Wafflebisquits, my husband Loopie Wafflebiscuits, and myself, Loopie Cootiebrain-Wafflebiscuits, please accept our congratulations ... as begrudging as they be.

Please tell Buttercup that Snotty sends his best regards, and that even though Snotty's efforts seem to be for naught, we know Buttercup will (a) do very well; (b) enjoy the ride; (c) take NorCal by storm when he gets to Cal next year.

By the way, HSBW friends ... please realize that I am not being hostile ... it is just that my Snotty son (oops, I mean my son Snotty) happened to escort Buttercup during an unofficial visit earlier this year at UCR and we wanted him !!!!

H-Mom -
laugh laugh - I will pass along your son's message (although not his new 'handle' as it will raise too many questions!). Thanks to all for the kind wishes from Crusty and Buttercup Girdlefanny.

You guys give such good advice, I thought I would ask you about this. Some feller just e-mailed me with an offer to sell me "A History of the Cootiebutts" for only $24.99. Cootiebutt isn't such a common name around here and I'm thinking I might find some long-lost relatives in another part of the country. Do you think I should buy the book? Confused

Chim-chim Cootiebutt
beepers40 ...

I can't answer your question but might I suggest that you either change you name legally or edit your "hometown info" in your HSBW profile ... ?
Somehow being a "Cootiebutt from the Bay Area" might be more descriptive than we care to consider ... 14

I don't know what it is about this topic that appeals to me, but I was telling a good friend about it on the phone last night and as I was announcing her "new" name, I broke out in uncontrollable laughter just like the first day I read the beginning of this thread. biglaugh I had to hand the phone to my husband to talk to her while I composed myself...what is it that causes this? I think maybe it means I am really stressed from work and need this laughter as a release. At least I HOPE that's what it means. Big Grin It makes me feel kind of foolish to be so "into this" but I just can't seem to get enough of this stuff. I have really enjoyed it and thanks again, URKMB, for starting this thread. Smile

Zippy B - You are quite welcome. As a matter of fact, I read through the posts again this afternoon while I should have been working and cracked up all over again. Sure hope I don't sign something by mistake as Crusty Girdlefanny - or maybe it just might help.... Cool

H-Mom,

Interesting you should mention changing my name. Thing is, I was a Girdlefanny until I got married. I thought long and hard about whether to keep my maiden name, but the illustrious institution where I matriculated was so populated with Girdlefannies--and in fact, we just read here that Buttercup Girdlefanny is keeping up the tradition--that there were not one, not two, but four Chim-chim Girdlefannies enrolled at the time I went there. I was tired of being mistaken for the Chim-Chim Girdlefanny who never paid her library fines. When my DH Mr. Cootiebutt proposed, well, lets just say I felt his pain, and wished to share it. Isn't that what love is all about?

It is now time to beat a dignified retreat. I have to go make dinner for all the little Cootiebutts.
Ladies ... (and Gents, if you dare be on this thread) ...

I am still getting a great laugh out of this thread ...
Anytime I am feeling a little down, all I need to do is come here. The added comments and banter are hysterical.

Thanks, UKMB (aka Crusty Girdlefanny) ... this has been a great treat.

I am THRILLED to hear that Zippy Apple Buns and Dr. Tushie both agree that your son will be able to throw next week!!! I know it has been a long haul with injury, surgery and rehab, so HOORAY and congratulations from Crusty and the entire Girdlefanny family!

Best,

Crusty Girdlefanny (AKA URKMB)!

P.S. Lumpy -- welcome to you and the younger Gizzardbrains!

Pay attention to the feedback that takes you where you want to go!
My darling college freshman son, Poopsie Bubblesniffer, is gearing up for his first college season. He is getting used to practicing in much colder temps than he had to in high school and sometimes even with snowflakes falling all around...I would imagine it is hard picking out a white baseball from a flurry of white flakes, indeed!

He is really enjoying his teammates and coaches. Let me introduce his coaches to you:

Head coach Loopy Bubbleshorts...his last name fits him well because he is, shall we say, vertically challenged. Wink He is a great coach both on and off the field and his short stature doesn't matter at all. He is 62 years old (I think that's right) and still going strong. clap

Pitching coach Dinky Applesquirt...his name doesn't fit him at all as he isn't either dinky or a squirt. He's much taller than Loopy.
He pitched in the major leagues and he was a two-way player at OU, just like my son wants to be. Smile

Third base coach Zippy Bubblebrain...his name doesn't flatter him, either, as he has a great baseball mind and has been a very pleasant addition to the OU staff this season (he was the former head coach at O-r-a-l Roberts). I am flattered that he and I have the same first name... doesn't the name Zippy make you think of someone who moves around fast? Well, I can't say that the name fits me too well now but I used to be pretty quick many moons ago.

I am very grateful to all of these great coaches who are helping my Poopsie develop his baseball skills in order to reach his full potential. I can't wait for the season to begin! greenjump
