BP for y'day's game was thrown by AFA Assnt Coach, Major Mike Kaslausky, without a shirt on....

It was 24F with a 15 mph wind. I think he thought it would be intimidating to the TCU players.... but in hindsight, the intimidating part was probably the fact that they thought he was "just nuts"...

As I said on another thread, they bonked cadKID#1 twice and intentionally walked him once, so the intimidation does have a place in baseball.

Two years ago, cadKID#1 hit a bottom of the 12th walk-off against BYU. In the bottom of the first of the night cap, cadKID#1 got bonked with a 94 mph fastball between the numbers. He looked up at the pitcher, gave him a "little salute" and sprinted to first. The 1B said to him..."hey Bolt, better tell your pitcher not to retaliate". Karl's response was "better tell your pitcher that over half my team mates can kill with piano wire..."

I love that story...

Oh, and cadKID#1 never wears sleeves... Colorado Springs... go figure....

Trojan DAD, sorry we didn't get together that weekend... and thanks for the posting...

Deemax,

Did you pitch at Falcon Field? Most guys from out of town mysteriously come down with a sore elbow when they arrive "on the Hill", catch their breath (if they can find one) at 7500ft Elev., turn their back to the 40 mph winds that "come off the glacier (called Pike's Peak)" and try to remember the curveball they had when they left home y'day.

Definitely a hitter's park...
