1956 I played a two game Series in South Dakota with the original Ladies from the Pro League. The rewards of Summer College Baseball.

Baseball can "open and close" doors, depending on the creativity of the player.
Have you observed the "movie" trailer of the Movie "Oppenheimer" and view of Trinity. After our College Worlds Series, the Tigers offered a Class D contract $75 per month and Uncle Sam offered $320.00 per month. Designation White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico.
The sand was not white, but brown. Nearest city, Las Cruces, NM, 25 miles and El Paso TX. [50 miles] Basketball in Quonset Hut.
18 months later, a new gym, baseball team played 50 games, several WSPG players selected for the US Army team to play "Willie Mays" All Stars barnstorming team. Thanks to the Post Commander providing the opportunity to Coach and organize the games.
Two 4th Army Championship trophy's for the General. [basketball thanks to Sam Jones] and a baseball Championship [team effort].
"Opportunity" is HS, College, Summer Ball, Pro Baseball.
Enjoy every minute, as my mother said when I debated one more year, "son you can always work, but not always play baseball".

Chapter 2:
1984 our American HS team is invited to Japan. Japan HS Baseball FEDERATION invited our team to Hiroshima to the monument in the Peace Park.
As group leader of the American Goodwill Series team, the Japan National ABC tv filmed my placement of the wealth at the tomb of honor.
This was my journey from Trinity to Hiroshima. Baseball was the the Highway.
Since 1983, our teams have played 14 Japan/ USA Goodwill Series. With Japan National HS teams
