Here in the Pack 6 in North Carolina, we are going to end up in a tie for 1st place in the conference. We split during the year and we both beat the 3rd place team twice--the first tie breaker we were told. We then were told the run differential in our two games would be the tie breaker. Now we are told that we we be declared co-champs and a playoff game will determined the #1 seed for the state tournament. This is ridiculous because we have our last game on Monday and start playoffs on Friday.

Does anybody know what the tie breaking rules are for NC high school baseball?

If the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

Matt, I appreciate your posts and they are normally dead on, but you missed the fact the Baltimore / Buffalo game would be on Tuesday and thus not count towards the overall standings. Wink
