Today, I visited the local high school in Santa Rosa and three of my former American Legion players appeared.
My son, Robert an SSK representative to the MLB players. Dean the AD at the local HS school and Derrick White, pro baseball player for 20 years in USA *MLB*, Korea, Japan and currently Mexico.
My son was pitching to Derrick and at the same time, he was telling "war" stories of his meeting with Eric Davis, Darrell Strawberry and others.
This interaction was priceless and I am thinking of the many parents [over 2,000], whom we have taken on our International trips to Japan, Korea, China and Australia.
Each parent learn that the game of baseball is
not for their son's stats but for their son's education and ability to be a leader and to adjust in life.
The common tread is to "stay loose". The Aussies
have a word "no worries mate".
Soon, I hope Derrick can join our group as a coach. He is a teacher. His wife is a Principle of a local high school.
Derrick graduated from U of Oklahoma, Dean graduated from U of Texas and Robert graduated from U of Hawaii.
Please parents "stay loose". Good things will happen for your son.
